As you can see in this new edition of the Ferranti ICT newsletter, we have been very busy the last months. This newsletter includes updates on our key partnerships with Dell and Microsoft, an overview of new projects and solutions, and a calendar with events where you can meet us.

We are very proud about the recognition we receive from our partners. Dell has awarded us the status of Premier Partner and we have recently earned the Microsoft Gold Systems Management Competency. On top of that we have also been selected by Microsoft to participate in the exclusive Technology Adoption Program for System Center Service Manager 2012.

Ferranti joins DELL's Premier Partner elite group of ICT Partners.

ICT service provider Ferranti Computer Systems has recently become the first company to bring Dell’s Premier Partner status to Belgium.

The DELL Premier Partner level demonstrates the highest level of service that a DELL partner can receive while supporting clients with DELL products and services. Being accredited with DELL’s prestigious ‘Premier Partner’ status is the result of a significant commitment and skills investment by Ferranti, demonstrating the technical capability and expertise to deliver DELL Solutions.

The KLINA General Hospital is the acute hospital for the north of Antwerp. The hospital is continuously striving for a high-quality patient-centered care. Characteristic for the hospital is the modern infrastructure, the use of high-end technologies such as robotics surgery and a wide range of medical disciplines.

A hospital is active day and night. Maximum availability of IT infrastructure is essential for business continuity. For AZ Klina it was important that the servers and storages could be used and managed in an optimal and simpler manner.

Ferranti Computer Systems and Federale Verzekering have been selected by Microsoft to participate in the exclusive Microsoft Technology Adoption Program (TAP) for Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM) 2012.

The widely recognized TAP Program is an early beta program for selected partners and customers that Microsoft has determined are important for a successful release of System Center Service Manager 2012. Federale Verzekering and Ferranti will thus be able to engage with the Microsoft product team and provide feedback and input during the development process of SCSM 2012.

With over 10,000 students, the Karel de Grote Hogeschool is one of the largest schools in Belgium. Each student has his own personal mailbox and storage of 25 GB. To achieve all this, the school uses the cloud computing system from Microsoft.

At the Meise municipality services about sixty people work with critical applications. The server environment was outdated and the various applications that ran on a server together, influenced each other.

The municipality of Meise decided to virtualize the server environment with Microsoft Hyper-V, installed by Ferranti Computer Systems. Each application now runs on its own virtual server, while the number of physical servers has been reduced from eight to two. The IT manager, who runs the IT department on his own, can now manage the server environment centrally and in a very efficient manner thanks to System Center Essentials.

The PC users of the municipal services can now work faster, so they can better help the citizen. Meise is also saving costs thanks to an environment that can be easily managed and extended in a more flexible manner. New IT projects are easier to implement, so Meise is able to go on for at least five years.
