Total infrastructure upgrade for SESVanderHave

SESVanderHave is devoted exclusively to the selection, production and sale of sugar beet seeds. The company’s global headquarters are located in the sugar capital, Tienen. For more than 125 years, the company has provided the highest quality varieties, aimed at increasing yields and fostering sustainable development for beet growers and the sugar industry.

In the framework of a total infrastructure upgrade, SESVanderHave called on Ferranti Computer Systems for the implementation of consolidated server hardware, storage and virtualization.

In consultation with SESVanderHave, Ferranti supplied an HP blade infrastructure in combination with EVA SAN technology serving as a single, centralized, consolidated and virtualized platform based on VMWare. The entire production environment was migrated to the latest versions of Windows 2008 and Exchange 2007, with the implementation of ISA 2006. The latter are run on a complete, high-access virtual server infrastructure.

Project planning was conducted in thorough consultation with SESVanderHave and the project carried out under the full responsibility of Ferranti by an experienced team of professionals. Ferranti has also been charged with the implementation of a corresponding backup solution for this infrastructure.
